Megat Iskandar At-Terawis

Born 18 February 1979. Received primary education at King Edward VII School, Taiping, Perak and continued his secondary education at Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman (STAR), Ipoh, Perak (1992-1996). He was awarded a scholarship by the Public Service Department to further his studies in the United Kingdom. Completed his A-Levels at Brooke House College, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, United Kindom in 1999 and gained entry to the University of Kent at Canterbury, United Kingdom. Graduated with a Joint Honours Degree in Computing and Accounting & Finance in 2002. He later pursued his post-graduate studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London in 2003 specialising in Malay Aristocratic Genealogy.

Former Chairman of the United Kingdom Executive Council for Malaysian Students (UKEC) from 2001-2003. He was a banker by profession – specialising in Cash Management and Islamic Finance. He now runs his own consultancy firm. He is also the founder and currently serving as Secretary of the Persatuan Keturunan Megat Terawis Malaysia (The Megat Terawis Clan Association of Malaysia). A Grade 8 holder in Pianoforte, he is an active musician, composer and arranger.

He married his 3rd cousin – Puteri Nuur Khadijah Binti Megat Ramli in 2004 and was blessed with two children – Megat Idris Naquiyuddin and Puteri Mariam Sophia.

    Sdr Megat Iskandar,
    Mengenai Panjang Ogek, anaknya yang bernama Taha dikenali dengan nama Penghulu Mat Taha. Saya cicit Mat Taha atau nama sebenar Mat Taha bin Mohamad, beliau adalah Penghulu Layang-Layang Kanan, Parit sekitar tahun 1920an – 1940an (betul rumahnya diguna dalam filem anna & the king). Setelah meleliti salasilah Panjang Ogek dalam Geni, nama Mat Taha tidak terdapat dalam keturunan Panjang Ogek bin UdA Katab bin Toh Adab (Toh dewa Seri Mahajara). Jika suadara ada cacatan mengenai salasilah keluarga Mat Taha bin Mohamad, saya ingin dapatkan maklumat tersebut kerana kami sedang mencari maklumat.

    Salam just want to say hello to you here. On Facebook I am friends with some of your clan. Don’t think we are friends on Facebook yet. I came across your blog while doing some research on my maternal side of the family. Just to get some facts correct. My grandfather is the late YM Raja Musa bin Raja Mahadi. In his lifetime his best friend was the late Datuk Megat Khas. In fact I treat Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin like my uncle as my mum and him is quite close. He just attended my sister’s wedding a few months ago. I am trying to understand my lineage and if you can help me all the better.
    I understand that my grandfather have 3 other brothers.and 1 sister 1. is Raja Ngah Ali (Raja Salamah bt Raja Yahaya b Raja Daud Shahid with Raja Muhammad Iskandar b Raja Omar b Sultan Ali (SP 24) 2. Raja Yahya Raja Mahadi (Raja Mahadi with Raja Salamah) 3. Raja Musid (Raja Mahadi with not sure of name 4. Raja Musa Raja Mahadi (Raja Mahadi with Raja Salamah) married Raja Teh Maimunah Raja Chik Abdul Hamid
    As you shall realise by now I did not put Raja Mahadi bin ?. Reason is my great grand father is somewhat a mystery. We are not even sure where he is buried. (We suspect he is buried in Saymat where my grandfather was born.) Not sure what is the great mystery but there you go. In our family tree that we created currently our research indicate that he is Raja Mahadi b. Raja Ngah Bakar b. Raja Omar b. Sultan Ali (SP 24).
    Just wondering if you can assist. This matter have been boggling my mind in the last few weeks .

    Late last year I contacted you regarding Laksamana Mohamad Amin and his descendants. I am still looking for the descendants ofHj Mohd Noh bin Laksamana Mohamad Amin and would appreciate it if you could contact me as soon as possible.

      I’m sorry Engku, I may have overlooked. Anyways, about Hj Mohd Noh…he is the father of the late Laksamana Lope Bahauddin. His wife is Wan Aishah – daughter of Orang Kaya Menteri Wan Md Isa. According to my grandfather (who was considered the most senior grandchild of Menteri Wan Md Isa), Laksamana Lope Bahauddin died childless. He had a brother named Che Mat but that’s the only info we have.

      Laksmana Lope Bahauddin died in 1947 and was laid to rest at Masjid Lama Taiping.
